Marquee Wedding Terms & Conditions
- Our standard package requirement for marquees at the castle is a minimum of a two night exclusive hire this includes all bedroom accommodation and main grounds. The Marquee Company will then have a day to set up before the event and the breakdown day after the event finishes the next day. A land rate of £1,200 is charged for the third breakdown day as we will be unable to have use of the main gardens.
- A minimum requirement of guests that all have a drinks and meal package from the castle is required. Please check with our sales office. If this number drops from time of booking the meal and drinks plans will still be costed into your final bill.
- No multi choice menus are offered under any circumstances. Head chef will work with clients to bespoke a menu if required but on the basis of one starter one main and one dessert .The exception to this is with regard vegetarian and gluten free options. All children's meals are charged at half portion rate.
- For addition evening guests no partial catering for buffets is allowed.
- Marquees need to be broken down the day after the event in one day. We recommend that clients find wedding insurance that covers them also on any overruns from the marquee company as the castle will charge the client directly for this at a rate of £ 1200 per day if equipment or marquee left on premises.
- Marquees necessitate the need for additional toilet facilities which must be ordered by the client in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- The power of marquee and all equipment including tables chairs, crockery. Table linen and glassware is the responsibility of the client. This includes the insurance for these items and damages incurred while on our premises.
- All items used for marquee like plates and crockery are only staked after use and not cleaned by castle. They are returned dirty to hire company for cleaning.
- When a marquee lawn event is in progress the main castle building will be closed to ensure that all invited guests are in the marquee. The main reception will be open for residents only for the sole purpose of accessing there bedrooms. Access will be granted on showing of room key. On that day no service of any kind will be offered in the castle to ensure that full staffing is available to run the event.
- All non residents would be required to leave the castle gardens by 12am on Sundays and 1am on all other days.
- A damage refundable deposit is taken from clients 2 weeks before event in case of any damages caused by marquee to castle gardens. This deposit will be fully refunded after the site inspection when Marquee Company are finished. If any damages are incurred these will be photographed and sent to client with the relevant bill for repair attached and deducted from deposit paid.
- Marquee terms are part of our standard trading terms and conditions which are freely advertised on the web site. Signed standard trading terms indicate your acceptance of all trading terms and conditions associated with marquee. Written copies of marquee terms as stated on web are available on request.
- Any variations to the original contract would need to be authorised by Auchen Castle and then subsequently changed on your function sheet as an accepted variation. All authorised variations are recorded in writing only by updating your function sheet; email and verbal conversations are not accepted as authorised variations to the original contract. An updated function sheet would be sent to you at the appropriate time detailing any such requests for variation that we have agreed too. We regret that no verbal agreements will be accepted or recognised if not then confirmed by ourselves in writing on an updated function sheet. All of our agreed variations are only accepted in this manner.
